microSD Express

A faster type of memory card, used to expand the digital storage of portable electronic devices.

microSD Express is backward-compatible with the popular but slower microSD standard, using the same physical form factor.

See: microSD

microSD Express cards have an extra row of contacts on the back, enabling the use of the faster NVMe protocol and PCIe interface, instead of the UHS interface used by standard microSD cards. Both the memory card and the card-reading device must support microSD Express for the faster read/write speeds to be enabled.
