Installing and using Swype doesn't require any rooting. I have the APK on my SDcard. All you have to to under your settings is change allow non market apps. Then install the APK using Linda file explorer (or something similar).

Also if you download from the market tattachAPK (try a search for tattach to find it) this will allow you to receive an APK from someone's Gmail account and install it to the phone. Once installed you're good to go.

None of this requires root (superuser) access.

After you follow those instructions send me a PM.
