can't access A697 Sundurst settings

My wife's A697 Sunburst touch screen will not allow me to get to settings on her phone to reset default settings or calibrate the screen. When you go to unlock the phone you can no longer use the touch "N" slide icon on the front. It seems the screen is so far out of calibration that you literally have to touch about 3/8" lower than the icon is located on the screen to work,... putting the selection of the proper hits - menu + settings out of my reach. How can I reset it? OR Do I need to call AT&T and have them reset it for me?

After constantly hitting the dial icon I got the keypad so I did a master reset using Samsung's codes. Still no good. Still can't get to the menu or settings keys. So I called AT&T they are sending me another unit since this one is still under warranty. Problem solved.
