The Nokia 7250 series is INCREDIBLE, but WHY wont it work here in the US?
If I go ahead and purchase one from overseas' what problems am I likely to encounter?
Cingular is another story. If you are in California or NYC area, then your should be fine, but most other places Cingular is GSM 850, so you'd be out of luck.
Yes, there really is a difference between 850 and 900. They are different frequencies, which isn't as simple as it sounds. If it was easy, all GSM phones would be quad-band.
If you like the 7250 features, consider the 3200, which should be out soon. There will be a version with GSM 850 offered by AT&T and Cingular soon. It has most of the 7250 features, plus a few extra like EDGE.
