I don't blame you. I have AT&T, so we are lucky that we have plenty of Nokia phones. I recently gave up my Blackberry phone due to dropped calls, signal, and poor battery life. I am back to using a Nokia 2610 which excels at being a phone.

Nokias are solid devices, hands down.

You know, you could try buying a discontinued Nokia on Ebay for use on U.S. Cellular. They had many good models from the past and you can find them on Ebay!

I haven't seen many Nokia CDMA phones made recently, and the ones made are not as impressive as the ones made for GSM carriers. I LOVE US Cellular and will not leave over phone choice, but it would sure be nice if Nokia made an E71x type phone for its American CDMA users.

Okay, about two years ago Nokia was in a nasty knock down drag out with QualCom (spelling, sorry). Basically, Qualcom has a monopoly on manufacturing the only chip in the world that makes the CDMA phones work, and Nokia kept trying to reverse engineer one and stepping on Qualcom's "patents". Nokia stopped manufacturing phones for CDMA carriers (for about 6 months) while it worked on making their own chip. Court cases flew all over the world, and culminated in several countries (Japan and USA) banning Qualcom from putting their chip in new phones.
