Unless the Verizon network in your area runs on 1900mhz, then you would have to get the phone's software re-flashed (that is assuming that the metro pcs version of the phone has the same circuit board). I *think* you would have to send the phone to nokia to have that done (if nokia would even do that), and I'm sure they would charge to do that if they did it at all. As far as I know, most every Verizon network runs on 800mhz. Every carrier will have their software set up so that the phone will only look for their network, so even if you programmed the phone for your number at Verizon, it still won't pick up their towers, and hence, most likely will not work at all (unless of course Verizon roams off of Metro PCS, which they probably don't...

I don't know about the Mhz of the phone, but what i do know is. All the Chip boards are the same for all carriers that have the same phone. Just the programs are different. Which basically means your going to have to find a 3rd party store that has the software to do this or buy one from the net. So you can find any CDMA phone that has the MHZ requirements, can be tri, quad or w/e... and just reprogram it. Corps. like to tell their workers the chip is different, but it's actually the programming. Gluck.
P.S. Google is your friend for the software.

Can a CDMA phone be 'Unlocked?' I'm sure there are restrictions that Metro PCS & Verizon put on their phones, but are the ESNs interchangeable if the subsidy lock is removed? 😕

cdma phones arent locked in a sence, they just need to be reprogrammed and the esn attached to your account to make and receive calls but would need a firmware flash to be able to do anything else, txt pic wap etc...
however most companies now like metro and verizon use esn inventory tracking to tell them if the phone was one of theres or not. While it will work that doesnt even guarantee that they'll be willing to activate it for you.
GSM works differently because the phone itself for the most part is a dummy shell, after you buy it the network only knows you by the sim inside.

I dont know about Verizon's policy, but at first you were able to use non-MetroPCS bought phones with MetroPCS by giving them the esn on your phone. I think a year went by until they will only accept MetroPCS bought phones' ESN when activating. Software varies slightly between carriers as well, so you may have to have the phone reflashed as well.
