What the hell is Full Duplex?

Doesn't every phone have that? I don't think I quite understand. If I am talking to you and you are talking to me we can both hear each other. We might be talking over one another but we can still hear each other. I thought every phone since the 1930 had that.
If you see Full Duplex anywhere, it usually follows or is preceeded with SPEAKER PHONE. I'm sure you know what that is...at least I hope so. Full duplex elimates the pause between parties when using the speaker phone option. It's just like talking on a landline back and forth..no delay. Half duplex contains a delay.

Digital Pimp thank you very much for explaining that for me. Do you think the i860 will have full duplex and if not will the i930 you think possibly have it? What phones do have it? I can't think theres that many that do?
Usually Rich Brome gets us all the information possible for the phones. So when you go to phones>motorola>i860 and look at the specs it tells you it has a speaker phone but doesn't tell you Half-Duplex or Full-Duplex. Which usually means Half-Duplex. If the phone specs actually tell you Full-Duplex than there you go. 😁
