Check out gsmworld.com for detailed coverage maps by carrier and band. Cingular has a strong base of 850 MHz nationally and is building up their 1900 MHz towers, but might be lacking somewhat. If you're on a Cingular nationwide (no roaming chgs), they have agreements with other 1900 MHz carriers to augment their existing towers. T-Mobile should be 1900 MHz and should be a good carrier.
