New Tilt
I haven't heard anything about an update for AT&T's Tilt (made by HTC) even being in development. Has anybody heard about one coming out any time soon? I'd hate to spend the money on one now when a new one is unknowningly just over the horizon. Thanks.

Yeah, the update to the TyTn II which is what HTC calls the Tilt, is currently beging called the HTC Raphael I think, here are the specs by the way, and yes, it's a very, very impressive device, that features TouchFlo!!!

Do you own the Tilt? If so, I have a question, let's say your making a phone call that requires entering numbers, or extensions, like on an automated system for example, how does that work, do you just touch the screen to the corresponding numbers, or do you have to slide out the keyboard and use the numbes there, I'm just curious, because right now, I'm seriously considering buying the Sony Ericcson Xperia X1, which is a very, very impressive device, it even has a 800 by 4...

I don't currently own the tilt, but I work for an authorized retailer for at&t, so I have had my hands on it quite a bit. When in a call, you can either use the slide-out keyboard or the on-screen keyboard to give the automated system a response. While in a call, the touchscreen sensitivity does lower a little bit to avoid accidental button pushes, but you don't notice the difference when trying to type numbers.

As to a release date, I don't know for a fact, but I think the 3rd Qtr is a good guess, and I was a tad wrong about the name, it's called the HTC Touch Pro, it's the successor to the TyTnII, also known as thd AT&T Tilt, so yeag, I think it's definetly safe to say it's coming to AT&T. Probably around the same time the tilt came out last year.

it doesn't matter who i am dude. think about it att get titans this is the touch pro att had the 8125 8525 8529 then the tilt spint has the touch now and the mogul the will get the touch pro bro ive seen both with the sprint logo on it and i know the diamond is going to tmobile later this year, it cant now(actually it can but the 3g wont work) because the diamond doesnt support tmobiles 1700mhz umts signal yet.

ACTUALLY, it is not a proper successor to the 8925 a.k.a Tilt. It is just another line in HTC's continuing dream to create the perfect pocket pc. If anything, the Touch Pro is the successor to the 8525, which does not have a tilting screen just like the Touch Pro. This isn't to say that it won't come down the line, but I'd be willing to bet that a LOT of people who have purchased this phone would be pretty upset if they revamped the design this soon only to add a superior tilting screen.
But that's just me.
