UTStarcom acquired the mobile phone division of Audiovox in 2004. In 2008, UTStarcom spun off the division into a new company called PCD. UTStarcom 7000-series phones were manufactured by UTStarcom, while all other phones were manufactured by other companies. For example, the 8000 series is manufactured by Pantech.
