Blackberry Pearl To Launch on T-Mobile Sept. 12

RIM today officially announced the Blackberry Pearl - the first multimedia capable Blackberry, as well as the smallest device in their lineup. The Pearl is a quad-band GSM / EDGE handset with RIM's hybrid SureType keypad that measures 4.2" x 1.97" x .57". The Pearl is the first Blackberry to drop the scroll wheel in favor of a trackball. It features a 1.3 Megapixel camera with flash, Bluetooth, 64 MB memory and a Micro SD slot. In addition to the email support, HTML browser and IM clients common to Blackberries on T-Mobile, the Pearl has a media player capable of playing MP3, AAC, MPEG4 and H.263 (3GP) files. It also has a new Blackberry Maps application which will adding mapping and location based services to the device. The Pearl will launch on T-Mobile September 12.
