Sprint Releases Sony Ericsson T608
Sprint this week began selling the long-awaited Sony Ericsson T608, the first CDMA phone for North America with Bluetooth wireless technology. Sprint is not allowing the phone to be used with unlimited data plans, although the phone is available with a $15 PCS Vision plan that includes 3MB of data usage. The phone is available for $199.99, exclusively through Sprint's automotive telesales department: 866-PCS-AUTO (727-2886).
Sprint PCS To Carry First Bluetooth CDMA Phone
Sprint PCS and Sony Ericsson today announced an exclusive distribution agreement for the Sony Ericsson T608 mobile phone. The PCS Phone by Sony Ericsson T608 is expected to be the first CDMA phone in the U.S. to feature integrated Bluetooth™ technology. The phone is Java-enabled and supports most features of Sprint's PCS Vision service. Sprint will offer the T608 in the second quarter of 2003.
Sony Ericsson Launches 2003 Phones
Sony Ericsson today launched six new mobile phones - four GSM and two CDMA models.
- T610: Tri-band GSM world phone with 65,536 colour screen, camera, Java, Bluetooth, Music DJ polyphonic ringtone composer, QuickShare photo sharing, and optional flash accessory. Available Q2 2003 in Europe, Asia, and North America.
- T616: Same as T610, with GSM 850/1800/1900 for Americas.
- T310: Tri-band GSM world phone similar to T300, with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4®, and more downloadable games via Mophun platform. Shipping this week.
- T316: Same as T310, with GSM 850/1800/1900 for Americas. Available Q2 2003.
- T608: Tri-mode CDMA with Bluetooth, 65,536-colour display, Java, speakerphone, and advanced voice control. Available Q2 2003.
- T606: Tri-mode CDMA with 65,536-colour display, BREW, internal antenna, and optional camera accessory. Available Q2 2003.
