KRZR k1m Phone Tools SUCCESS Story
It appears many of us KRZR k1m owners have tried with limited success to use Motorola Phone Tools to talk to our phones. Because I have not seen a success story on this forum, I thought I would post one!
After several days of banging my head against the screen, I was finally able to get the Motorola Phone Tools to recognize and talk to my KRZR k1m. I'm with Sprint, but hopefully this will work for any carrier. Here's what I had to do to make it work:
1) Installed Motorola Phone Tools (version 4.03 off the CD I bought).
2) Installed Motorola_Software_Update.exe to install the necessary drivers to be able to talk to the phone at all. This is found at the following URL:

if u want to know how to get ur kzr working on the putor with the motorola phone tools , send me a email and i will sent u the files u need to down load. to get it working. i called motorola toll free support # and they sent me the required files for ver 5 phone tools and another for the proper driver for the phone. will be waiting for email reply

I phoned Motorola support 1 8oo toll free number and they sent me ver 5 of phone tools and the driver exe files, if anyone needs them , they can email me at ve1ron@eastlink.ca and i would be glad to send them to you. My k1m works fine now with the new ver of phone tools and drivers
