NOT cingular....
Apparently a 2-mp camera is too high a resolution for Cingular to support.
...
Cingular is getting the W810i which is a 2MP Camera. So they might get this one also.
...
Interesting, our rep told us Cingular was avoiding high resolution cameras so it doesn't jam up the network. I wasn't aware we were getting the W810i
...
that is partly true. but there might be a set size limit that you will be able to send to other phones. since its bluetooth and will be able to connect via usb it will most likly be able to put the pictures onto a computer that way.
but sorta like some new video phones, it may give you the option to take a picture for 2mp or take a picture for messaging, say VGA size pictures.
and who knows. the UMTS network that they are working on may be able to support up to 2MP or more. since they plan to debute it for data first.

Isn't Cingular suppose to carry the Nokia N80 which has a 3mp camera?
...
Cingulars MMS only supports up to 300KB. but you can always email them if you have a good enough phone. 😉
...
Actually at first yes Cingular had decided that on the EDGE network a 2.0 mp camera was too large, also at this time however they had expected the release the 3G network within a month or so. Since the Official Release Date has been pushed back, and yes I'm aware that in some cities the 3G network is up and running, they have decided to bring in a 2mp camera phone. My rep also said all this, and yes the 810i is what it looks to be, except they'll be renaming it to the 803. Our rep had said that some of the higher ups were beginning to realize they were starting to lose money on not having a 2mp camera.
...
I seriously doubt anyone is losing money cause they don't have a 2MP camera. Unless your store is in the middle of a photo studio. Most people dont even care about 1MP.
