Is the battery life better than the K1m? My krzr is lousy on batter other than that I like the phone.

I haven't used a KRZR, so I don't have first hand experience, but the battery capacity on KRZR and Ve are about the same I think. The Ve might be a little worse since it has more features and bigger displays I would guess.

I gave my Maxx a full charge last night, played around with it a little (settings, etc.) and turned it off. Full battery showed.
Turned it on this morning and made about, oh, an hours worth of calls, maybe an hour and a half, and it's down to one. Yikes!

After you fully deep cycle a new LiIon Battery about 4-5 times, the capacity seems to reach it's max. I wouldn't worry yet!

Yes, this is true. Batteries need to break in. I hate it when people charge the phone once, say "oops, the battery life sucks" and returns it. It's downright stupid. My E815, the first few times, lasted 1-2 days between charges. It's 2 years later and it lasts 3-4 days...and I live in a fringe area. Batteries need a week or two of straight draining and charging to reach their potential. If your battery is lasting 1-2 days right out of the box, expect it to last 2-4 a month from now.

We just picked these up yesterday and so far the battery is not looking too promising. Charged for about 4 hours will try overnight charge tonight and will see what gives.

I bought the RAZR Maxx on Sunday and it had one bar. I made a 15 min. call and took a couple pics and it died. Charged it fully. Then made one, 1 hr. long phone call, sent 7 text messages, took a few pics and it DIED.
Maybe I got a dud, but I took it back (it had another problem with the camera w/ flash on) and got another one. That one kept restarting on me so I took that one back and went back to my old phone. Two duds and having to pay full-retail was just too much for me to handle. I don't know if the first one was indicative of the battery, but if it was then it was terrible. I'll wait a few months to see how this phone fares and maybe pick it up again down the road.

No, the first one probably wasn't indicitave of the battery. The manual most likely says that full capacity isn't reached until 4-5 charge cycles have been completed. I thought it would also suggest charging for 12-24 hours prior to first use but the manual from my E815 doesn't.

Battery indicator has issues! Like some other Motorolas from the past, you have to reboot the phone to get a proper reading. If your battery goes down real fast, reboot and check. Hopefully they will release an update to resolve this issue.

To all you guys that buy the phone, use the battery up once, get pissy and return the phone: it takes 4-5 cycles for the battery to warm up! To those that have returned the phone thinking it's a "dud", the only dud around here is you. Batteries need to have a break-in period like nearly everything else you buy. Before your battery works properly, you will have to drain and charge it for probably 1-2 weeks. My E815 only lasted a day or two when I bought it. I get 3-4 days now - 2 years down the road - and I live in a fringe area.

I get it time after time;
"My phone, the first few weeks lasted me 5 days or so before I needed to charge it." They go on to say that they even used it more then. Now they are lucky if they get 1-2 days without even using it much

It means one of three things:
1.) They got a dud (least likely)
2.) They are charging it improperly. This is more likely. You should always let a battery drain fully before recharging it. Even if the manufacturer says it doesn't suffer from "memory loss," it's a good idea to use it completely and charge it often.
4.) They're just making up an excuse to return the phone so you stop questioning them. I have no doubt this happens quite frequently.

I actually reached a "record" with my E-815 just this week. I charged it Sunday night, didn't put it on charge again until Thursday night (and it was only down 1 "bar"), and I leave the BT on and connected to my headset all day, which usually drains it faster. I have the extended-life battery also.

When I had the LG-vx9800 'the V'. I would watch full length movies on my phone. talk on it for a few hours a day. (with bluetooth) play some games on it from get it now. text about 20 messages a day and still charge it every 5 days. I also had the extended battery. đ
Now I have the EnV, it's a smaller phone, better camera, but it's not even close to a few days with not much use.

Think about it though. You're comparing a RAZR to the giant V. the point of the RAZR is to be THIN. that means it uses a small capacity battery. Look, it's as simple as this:
- If you want good battery life, buy a bulky phone
- If you want a small phone, accept lower battery life

This is my second Maxx ve. The first one i bought and charged it up, and it was dead in a day and a half. I would charge it up and it would never last longer then 1 1/2 days. I called tech support and they told me to take it back to the store and switch it for another one. I charged up the new one and im now on my 3rd day with 3/4 battery power left. I can already see this one is much better then the 1st one i had. So far i am loving the maxx.

I leave my phone turned on 24/7. I have talked about an hour each day on it. I have also used the Vcast some and i check my account over the phone also. I do this everyday to keep track of things. Right now im on my 3rd day again and i have 2 bars left. That will last me all day unless i talk alot on it today. I will probably recharge it tonight so i know i have power for tomorrow. The 1st maxx i had i would be down to 2 bars by the end of the 1st day or right away at the start of the second day. Then it would be dead half way though the 2nd day.
