Unlock VX-9400
Just picked up my VX-9400 today, awesome phone but I want to unlock it. Does anyone know how??? 🤨
...
I believe the unlock code is the last 4 digits of your phone number.

No No not the keypad lock. Verizon puts their own software into the phones they sell but before they did that LG had their own software that allows you to do more with it. Like being able to download your own music and put it on your memory card and your phone will play it. But Verizon cripples those features so it makes us HAVE to purchase Vcast music in order to use that MP3 feature. I know on many phones if not all to my knowledge their is a way to unlock the phone so we can use all those crippled features. If anyone knows how this is done please reply. Thanks

i dont know how to unlock the phone but you can put music onto your phone without unlocking it. i bought a 1gb memory card and put all my own music on it no plroblem.

no such thing as LG made the Software on it.

The only way to get songs onto your phone without buying them is getting a MicroSD card and put them onto that. Thats what I have done with all my other past phones.

Yea i figured that out actully. On all my mother past Verizon phones that never worked i always had to purchase the music. But on this one it does.

I tried putting music on my memory card, but some of them do not read on my phone. They are valid mp3's. Are there certain specifications each mp3 has to have?

On old Verizon LG phones you could do the following to unlock some extra features.
1. Press Menu
2. Press 0
3. It will ask for a six digit lock code, put in all zeros.
This will get you to a menu and there is actually an option to enable mp3 use. This will let use any mp3 and not just files from the vcast music store. I know this worked on the VX-8100 and some of the other LG music phones. Anyone with the 9400 try it out and let us all know if it works.
...
No worries. The mp3 player is already enabled and you don't have to use music bought from verizon.
I had the vx8300 before this phone and I put 350 songs on my 2 gb micro sd straight from my computer. When I got the 9400, I took the card right out of my old phone and slipped it into this one.
