To wait or not to wait?
Wish I knew when the Maxx and Shine (VX8700) http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2007/02/09/lgs- shine-like-vx8700-for-verizon/ were coming out. I realize they are different phones with different purposes, but I just want a good "phone" for making calls that has a little kick to it. The U740 has the keyboard, the Maxx has the 2.0 camera and looks cool, and the 8700 is thin and just plain looks sweet.

the shine probably won't be out for a while. The maxx might be a formidable competitor, but motorola has been a joke lately, so I prolly wont pick it up.

dude, i feel your frustration. One thing you will ultimately realize: as long as you are involved in online forums like this and such, you will always be waiting for that phone around the bend. At some point you have to just get what fits you best right now.
when that shine hits the showroom, there will be some other buzzworthy phone around the corner about to launch and then you have have that same dillema. For your purposes the 8600 will please you well. If you want to save a few bucks, the 8300 has all the same features in a different form factor. The only thing Im waiting on personally is the TV phones and service to launch sometime in the next 6 weeks. If they arent too expensive, I might go that route. Otherwise, Im jumping ...

nothing is for sure Verizon can change their minds at the last minute.I find out info by talking to Verizon employees and what I read on various sites.
