Nokia N75
N75 is a quad phone a world phone

The N75 being a GSM Quad or World Phone it should work in Europe and Asia.
They probably get the phones before we do.
Especially in Japan and China, and they have better phones that we have not even seen yet.
If we could get an N75 phone from over there, it should work over here no problem as long as it is unlocked and you may have to get another simm card.
When you travel to Europe or other Asian countries for more than a few months you can take your unlocked GSM phone with another simm card and be able to use it over and pay as you go with their cel phone companies and not have to pay US long distance and roaming fees.
This is what I have been told.
CDMA phones I believe only work in North America and GSM Quad or World...

From what I understand, this Nokia N75 was designed specifically for the US market. While it will work in Europe, it will be available here first.

While it will work in Europe, it will only have 3G UMTS bands for the U.S. This is why it will only initially be available here. If you live in the US and only travel occasionally in Europe it would be perfect. If you live in Europe there is no point to getting a phone that doesn't have UMTS 2100.

Iam a traveler to Europe often, and live in the US. All was somewhat fine if you got a quadband phone prior to 3G the US has the 850 band for Voice (GSM Incl Edge) and also 900, 1800 and 1900. Most or the world uses the last 3 and is now using 2100 for 3G (UMTS or WCDMA) Data only. The problem in the US the 2100 wave length is a military frequency so for now it is not open to Cell phone use.
When I travel I always use an unlocked phone and just place in a new Prepaid Sim, Very simple and Cheaper than Cingy traveling rates.

Yes the treo 750 supports all the bands. I have a cingy branded one. To be really honest. If traveling, not so much interested in media access as just having a phone to use. So quad band and lessor extent tri band phones would sever me just fine.
When and if I need to, I just will get the 750 unlocked. Otherwise, I'd just take something like my unlocked Nokia 6270.
