Samsung BlackJack SGH-i607

I have a BlackJack with a headset adapter that allows me to plug in a headset with mini-phone jack into the multiconductor connector on the side of the unit. The problem is the volume playing MP3's with Windows Media Player is extremely low, even with the volume at 100%. Anybody have a clue as to why this is? I already found the settings under Windows Mobile Profiles and set the headset volume to "Loud" (it was at 2) and that did absolutely nothing.
