Quality of Helio service
I am seriously considering dropping Verizon and my vx8300 for Helio and the Drift. I live in the Los Angeles area and am curious about the quality of coverage and calls. For those who have used Helio, have you expericed many dropped calls or areas without any service. This phone is very enticing, yet the primary function of a cell phone is to make and receive calls. If anyone has any input it would be greatly appreciated...thanks 😁

Helio uses Sprint's network so (in theory) it should be exactly the same. Since the likelihood of finding another Helio user within ten miles of you is pretty slim, you'd probably be better off asking people you know that use Sprint in your area.

I've been using the Drift for about a week now and no dropped calls, all calls connected noticeably quicker than Cingular and Verizon, outstanding call quality and reception in all areas traveled so far. I work in TV production and work throughout the city on a daily basis and the service has been excellent in all areas, My Cingular service used for 26 days was the worst ever with calls failing to connect, busy network and horrible call quality, My only beef is picture and video messaging has been down since purchase...Helio is feverishly working on it.

im also in LA and have had no problems. I drive from Torrance/Inglewood to Whittier for employment and no dropped calls or problems and drive around other areas of LA/OC for personal and have had no problems.
