Status light
do you guys know if this phone has a status light?? it seems to only come on during a call or when at a text message comes in. Is there any way to program it to have a steady status light blinking? even when the phone is not in use..just on stand by.

Traditionally, the status light on Sanyo phones does nothing when the phone is standing by. It will alert you to a new text message, or call, it will also change colors on a ready link call, like you don't know that you are talking. It used to blink red when you had the camera viewfinder up, but the flash now does this. I have gone over this phone extensively, and I saw no way to change the purpose or function of the status indicator LED. The VM-4500 allowed the LED to be manipulated, but I dont think that it blinked when in standby. This blinking LED would not kill your battery if you were able to do what you wanted. They consume mere microwatts, and are not on all of the time.

also the flash on the camera like you seen in the review. Why does it flash red? Does it change to white when you take a picture?

it flashes red to let someone know you might be taking their picture and yes it goes to white when you take it!
