I'm fairly intelligent, but can't seem to get my music files to play. I transfered them directly from my itunes collection on my external hard-drive. They appear listed in Tools/File Manager/Music. However, when I press Options, the only choices that appear are Move, Erase, Sort by, Properties, and Rename. The Move option will only allow me to move it to a different File Manager category. They do not go to the Media Player.
Do I have to burn these files onto a CD and transfer them through the Windows Media program as other people have been successful with? I was hoping to drag and copy them from the iTunes collection straight to the phone.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Chad

I had that problem, Try this: when you go tranfer them to the phone covert them to ACC to make them play!!! Check you bitrate! The phone can play up to 192MHz but some songs that i have that are 2 something play!!(mp3)

Thank you so much, Cesar. At least I don't feel alone in this issue any longer. Pardon my ignorance, but how do I convert them to ACC? I use to mobile DJ and I have a huge collection of mp3/4s. How do I convert them while ensuring they are still playable through my iTunes? Thanks for your continued support.

Last night I even burned a bunch of songs to disk, installed them onto the Windows media player, and transfered the files that way. Again, I can see some of the files in the File Manager, but they won't go to any playlists or the music section. I really like this phone but dont feel it is worth all of these hassles to function properly. I'm seriously considering returning it. I had a Nokia before and it was simplistic to transfer files and play them. Nokia phones are very user friendly whereas this phone is difficult to manage.

More information:
Since the phone cannot read wma files, I've scratched the concept. My iTunes doesn't recognize the phone as a device it can sink with like the Windows Media Player did. Files I have been able to download onto the phone have been filed as unknown/unsupported file format (purple question mark).
I'm wondering if its a problem with my phone. I really like it if it weren't for this issue. I'm considering returning it and trying another one. If the problem continues I'll just get a similar one.

itunes does'nt recognize the phone since it does'nt have itune software on it. Anyway to convert the songs to ACC format, use itunes, then (usually in My Documents > My Music > Itunes > Itunes music) go to the folder that says itunes music. There you will find the songs that you have converted. To access the files of the phone go to My Computer: look for the drive SANYO!! Select it and the go to the file MEDIA. Put the songs that you have converted there by copy and pasting them to the phone on that folder.
Hope this helps!! If you need more help write me.

More Info: Windows Media Player (while transfering) makes them to WMA format which is dum since the files are still mp3 ect.

You're making it too complicated. MP3s play fine. Skip the option button and when you see the name of the song displayed press OK. Better yet, go through the Music option instead of the Tools. When the Music store loads, use the right arrow to change tabs to Player, locate your song and press OK.

Thank you for your help. I finally made a breakthrough earlier in the day. I still can't understand why iTunes doesn't recognize my phone as a device. Windows Media Player and Real Player both identified it in the same manner I am accustomed to iTunes recognizing an iPod. Anyways, I made the link between the phone and my laptop. Then I clicked My Computer, went to the drive associated with the phone, and opened the Music folder. From there I opened up iTunes and I shrank the window. I could then drag the song onto the Music folder.
The problem with protected songs (ones I purchased from iTunes) was also solved, but through a more extensive process. I burned a Rewritable CD from the files I wanted. After it had ejected, I closed i...
