Sanyo M1

I've got a quick question here for those that own the Sanyo M1.

When the device is plugged into the comptuer does it announce it's self as a UDISK (thumb drive, mass storage device)?

I read on a few reviews that when plugged in via usb it says it's a USB mass storage device. This is a huge concern of mine because I like everything about the phone and I need to know if it can do this one thing too. If it can, then I can load the SLAX linux distro on it and use it on a host computer and never leave my computer at home.

So if anyone knows. Please, let me know!

I found Garmin mobile available to download, but no Telenav. 😢 At least I know the GPS capability is in there. Perhaps just a matter of time before Telenav releases the software for it.

OK... so the phone acts different ways with the bluetooth head set depending on what profile it is using... so my question is how do you change the profiles?

does anyone know how to change it ?

Hey everyone, does this phone support taking video clips with the camcorder & assigning them as a caller ID like some of the other Sanyos?

i was wondering on the m1...can u set ur videos as ur background like on the fusic? i think when a phones can do thats...thats nice...having a video playing everytime u open ur phone is nice...well can it? uh? uh? uh? 🤣 😎

Am I totally lost. Can we use our music files as ringtones?

anyone else notice that texting will lag a bit sometimes and when you hit a key it takes a second to respond (or did i just get a lemon) i notice particularly with H. then maybe again its just user error and my thumbs are too fast, so i don't push the keys fully. 👀 😳 😕

does this phone have a signature for text messages?? 😳

how is the battery life on the M1?

I just have a simple question about this phone...

I see that the Info sheet on this phone (on the Info tab) that this phone has PTT (Push-To-Talk).

Is this a true PTT phone or is this a phone with Ready Link? Could you actually use this for contacting Nextel customers? Or is this Ready Link (which I think is lame) and not many people I know have Ready Link..

Please tell me which is it... PTT or Ready Link?

1. If I have Mp3's I put on the phone myself, can I set them as ringtones or do I have to download ringtones from the sprint store in order to make them my ringers. IF this is the case is there a way around this to be able to use my own songs as ringers?

2. Do's this sanyo till have that lil animated buddy animal that all the other ones did and if so whats the animal this time around?

3. Do's the bluetooth support OBEX file transfer. For those who don't know, can this phone send mp3s and pictures from one phone to another with bluetooth.

4. I guess my last question is should I choose Cingular, or sprint?

how does the M1 compare to the sanyo mm9000? and is the camera much better on the M1?

Does the screen on this phone the same size as the RAZR's. I don't want a big phone with small screen. I know that it is 2.0 inches.

I KNOW THIS IS NOT AN IMPORTANT FEATURE TO MANY PEOPLE BUT IS THERE A CHARM HOLDER ON THE M1?????

Can anyone tell me how this phone's internal LCD compares in size (L x W) to the SCP-5500 (VM4500)? Also, what is up with all the posts saying that the picture quality is not as good as the A900?? I hope that that they are referring to how the *printed* photo looks and not the quality of the pic on the LCD screen. I have a VM4500 with a VGA cam & the pics it takes look *MUCH* better than the Samsung A900... Seriously, how can a VGA have a better pic on screen than the M1 (with a better quality LCD AND *2.0 Megapixel* camera)!! Just frustrated. 😕 I have held onto my good 'ole 4500 for this very reason... but I want the M1 because of its more advanced features. "...what's a girl to do??" INFO PLEASE!! 🙄

I currently own the Fusic as a warranty replacement from many Samsung A900 failures. It's a fine phone overall, but after checking out the new Sanyo M1 I'm debating giving my fusic to my wife and going after this phone. Is it worth it to get this phone and is this phone bigger in size compared to it?

What color is the keypad light? Does the external controls light up?

is it just me or does the camera on this phone take the same or worse pictures than a 1.3 mega pixel? i can't tell the difference when i look at the pic on the computer...what do u guys think if u have the M1....my blade took better pics i'm beginning to think!

So I guess some of you guys have been saying that sanyo's mobile phone division is closing down? Where did you guys hear that? Does that mean sanyo phones won't have a warranty??

what's this i hear about the M1 having a weak hinge? someone said on the review that if you close the phone half way it rattles and seems loose....is that true? mine is set for delivery on monday!!!! 😎
