Is there a way, without Motorola Tools 4.0, to connect my phone to my computer? I want to add some pictures, but I notice that while Windows XP recognizes my phone as a "drive", it keeps prompting me to format the drive whenever I try to send something to it.
Is there a workaround for this or do I have to order the Motorola Tools?

Do you have bluetooth on your computer? If not, you can get cheap usb bluetooth modules on ebay...I did that for my older laptop, and that connects fine to the v3xx, as does my new MacBook with built-in bluetooth.

Thanks for the info! I haven't tried Bluetooth yet. I bought a transflash card and that solved the problem. Apparently, I thought I could access the phone's internal memory through the computer.
Problem solved. Thanks again for the info.

But MPT is about half the cost of a BT adaptor.

I got my bluetooth usb from ebay for $5. I guess half that would be $2.50, so ok...go for it!

You mean that was the price with shipping too?
...
I stand corrected! Right, with shipping it was $13.00. Still pretty cheap, and MPT is not an option for me since I'm a Mac user, but I haven't seen that good of a price for it anywhere. If you want, I'll send the url of the ebay store where I got mine, it's a regular stocked item for them.

I got a D-links BT adaptor. I also got MPT from Amazon for 15.67 shipped. With MPT I connect at a faster speed, as BT bottlenecks the speed.
...
Nice! You're all set! Yeah, BT is slower, but I do like not having to connect a cable. Heck, the phone stays in my pocket while I transfer my files. I wish MPT had a Mac version, for that price I'd like to have it around.

I only use the cable if i wanna tether or transfer large amounts of music. If its just a song or a few pics or ringtones I use bluetooth. Its sad to say I dont know anything about a mac but I do like the mac/pc commercials lol
