iR - umm....not ...?
I think the "info" specs on phonescoop for the i760 are wrong, or can someone correct me on this.
I have a friend that has the i760, I recently just got the xv6800. I was talking to him about whether or not I should have considered the i760 instead when it was found that neither of us could find an iR port on the i760, also, checking in connection settings where my previous smartphones and current xv6800 all show "beam" for a connection (meaning iR) the i760 does not show that.
Does the i760 REALLY have an iR port or not?
...
I have had mine for a while and found the same thing. unfortunately there is no IR port. The "beaming" of info refers to the bluetooh communication. I think that this is a feature Verizon has decided to allow finally, but left the IR out of it with this phone.

no, the "beam" in connections is iR not bluetooth...Bluetooth is omni-directional so "beam" wouldn't make sense either where as iR is a line of sight "beam",

I think you may be arguing semantics. I do not believe that the manufacturer looked that deep into the mulitple definitions of the word beam v. bluetooth. That iswhy when you choose to "beam" information on the phone it automatically looks for other bluetooth capable devices. I am not an expert, but that is what the phone does, and I assume they meant to do that.

Where? Don't know.... I looked at my book, it does not say... neither do the cd's I got with the phone. When I got my samsung I beamed my contacts & other stuff to my samsung from my Q. It took a while. My samsung will beam quickly to any device but is slow to recieve beams from other devices. Jo
