are you all forgetting about wifi??
[Just so you know I proudly own the SE w810i (unlocked) and I have service with AT&T.]
All I hear about on here is complaints that the iPhone only has EDGE. Well, I think many of you are forgetting that it also has WIFI (which is better anyway). I don't even think the new Palm 750 has WIFI. Anyway, for myself (and I'm sure many other people), I would much rather have WIFI than a 3G network capability. Not to mention, what happens to all these complaints in 6-12 months when the 2nd gen iPhone has 3G and most likely increased storage and other features? Also, to who ever said you would have to take your iPhone in for updates clearly doesn't have an iPod, since all updates will be done through iTunes on your own computer.

I actually disagree and I think it would be better to have 3G everywhere instead of Wi-Fi added with EDGE or GPRS because it is difficult for many people to go to those hotspots especially if they will have to spend extra for the usage in those hot spots. People would rather see 3G everywhere.
It becomes a pain every time you want to get Wi-Fi but can’t go to those locations or perhaps can’t afford those locations whereas the 3G network will be in your area and at least you will be able to have high-speed data.

I completely understand where you're coming from, and I agree with you for the most part. I was just saying that I "personally" would rather have WI-FI because most of the places I go have free WI-FI. Also, I didn't realize that you HAVE to by the data plan (which makes all the difference). I will now be waiting for the 2nd gen that has 3G before I pay an extra $20/month for unlimited data.
