iPhone on an ANR plan

I have an ANR plan working for an authorized retailer, and as many know we are not allowed to have an iphone on our account, especially when our rep has mentioned that AT&T has been actively auditing ANR accounts and "fixing" them down if they show an iPhone being used.

Now I have heard that if you unlock the iPhone so that it does not require activation through iTunes, that everything "could" be O.K.

So my question is, what is the best way to unlock the iPhone since I am not looking to use it on any other network, just use it without having to activiate it using iTunes.

Im in the same boat as you are. I have my ANR account, and was wondering the same thing. I did a trial and error type deal just to see what would happen. First of all I was successful at getting the phone unlocked and put my sim in the phone. Everything worked 100%. I checked my account to make sure everything was still the same, and it was. Now, this is where it got tricky. I remembered that from past experiences when ever you put your sim in a different AT&T logs that IMEI onto your acct. It doesn't change it but in the back-end of the system says that your sim was in that phone. So I logged into my account through cingular.com and damn them!, it change the phone model from my BB to the iPhone. So no matter what AT&T will find out and canc...
