i would like to buy the iphone but i cant afford the service. I am looking to buy a used iphone and simply add my sim. the question i have is if the iphone is always connected to the internet, and if i will be charged for it. if it is then can i block the satallite internet and just use wifi?

Hey, I know it's been a few months and you didn't get a reply. Basically you cant use the iphone unless you sign up for a data plan. You can't just put your sim in it, you have to connect it to itunes and put your information, credit card, etc...then you have to choose a plan ranging from 20-50 dollars on top of your existing plan. It sucks but that's what you have to do.
