I was curious if anyone knows if the upstage is compatible with mac. Also can you play songs from itunes on the upstage or not.
If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it.

what do you mean, "compatible with mac"?

what do you want to do?

and there is not really any such thing as an iTunes file, but yes, the phone will play mp3 and should also play aac, both of which are file types that are also compatible with iTunes.

You can't take the music directly from itunes to the phone. You have to find the file on your computer where your itunes music is stored and take it from there. Some of the files will be in m4a format so you may need to convert them to mp3. Let me know if that helps at all and also let me know if you need an audio converter.

I think we have found the files but you are correct they are m4a. How do we convert to MP3 and how to we transfer to the phoe via the USB.

Sorry for the silly questions this is new to us.

Thanks

Hi Mobile Trojan -- can you clarify --

from a Mac -- where is the 'menu' option -- at the Finder level or in system preferences?

I've been trying in vein to get my Mac to recognize the Upstage as a mass storage device (the phone recognizes as much) but the mac will not load the volume. Bought a USB microSD reader (essentially a USB thumb drive type of device) -- and nada. I never have issues mounting/loading peripherials.

So were is the 'menu > tools > mass storage > connect to PC' path.

Thanks.

you could burn the iTunes purchases to CD, re-import the burned CD as mp3 files.

you'd have two of the same files, but once you get them on to the Upstage you can delete the mp3.

I'm thinking of upgrading to this phone myself, also a Mac household...

im really confused with your guys issues. in my experience (and i often use the sprint music manager) i could transfer any mp3 m4a mp4 to the phone directly and have it play. as a matter of fact when i use the included software it takes all of my music from my computer, and converts the songs that the phone cant read into m4a. so i dont understand how this is such a conundrum... seems like everyone is making it so hard
