They made a strategic decision to focus on GSM, (except in Japan,) and they re-confirmed that strategy at 3GSM this year. They have no current plans for CDMA for the US.

Well, Verizon charges you up the wazooooo for anything you do... (hell, they charge you if you want to change ESNs...)
The reason a lot of people's calls drop on Cingular is because they have crappy phones. I have a Nokia 6682, and my call barely drops in San Diego, CA.

And a dropped call is when the NETWORK cannot handle the call, not when you leave the service area. This is what confuses most people.
T-mobile doesn't have as many dropped calls as Cingular is probably due to Cingular being #1 in terms of the amount of customers (thats going to change when we buy Alltel 😈 ) so it has more peo...

Verizon should seriously consider adopting R-UIM cards (basically CDMA SIM cards). I have a PDA but I would not like to take it anywhere where it can get broken (because PDAs aren't very durable, pretty much one bad drop and it's done) and quickly switch R-UIMs. I guess I can do an online ESN change, but what about if I'm on vacation and want to use my PDA but when I go to the beach, use my old Audiovox 8910?
I say we start a petition.
