Single Band Phone
This phone runs on only CDMA1900. Most Sprint phones are at least dual band. Could this be a problem with signal strength or when roaming?
I rarely have any problems with my current
two band phone from Sprint

This is my worry as well. I've been a Nextel customer for two years but am thinking of switching to a hybrid to get better text messaging and data. The thing is that these are 1900 only. I've heard some say this doesn't hurt anything, and others say it cuts coverage in half. If the PowerSource coverage maps on the S/N website hold true, I am covered. Does anyone know how accurate those maps are?

I've had my 902 since July, after carrying an i880 and a sanyo M1, and haven't had any trouble with call reception. only draw back to the single mode is data roaming, so I don't get evdo access in my home area (SC) but I'm fine when I get to a sprint area like charlotte and ATL.

You'll notice Sprint now has 3 different coverage maps; Sprint devices, Nextel devices, and Power Source devices.
And if you switch between Sprint and Power Source coverage you'll see that with the single band Power Source you lose the gray (roaming) area.
And I hate to say it because I just switched to Sprint with a Power Source phone that the area your left with, with a Power Source is quite a bit smaller than some GSM (AT&T) carriers.
But did you buy the phone because it's what you want or the service.
