Moto Q 9h Dilemna

I have already decided I am getting the 9h. So much so that I switched from Verizon to AT&T in anticipation of it (I had just signed up with Verizon and switched at the end of the 30-day trial). Unfortunately, my 30-day trial with AT&T ends on the 19th (already including a 7-day extension). According to AT&T, if I don't switch phones by then I am either stuck with my old phone or have to pay the penalty to upgrade (something like $175 + cost of new phone). No way am I going with either of those options. They refuse to allow me to order the phone before it's available or any other option, for that matter, short of cancelling my service and giving up my phone number. At this point I would rather give up my number than pay a $175 fine or be stu...

Just get you a cheap phone off EBay or pre-paid phone and use your SIM in it until the Q9 is released. Go ahead and return the other device to AT&T. They'll still owe you a discount when the Q is released.

If you are unhappy call and say these magic words..."Please transfer me to the Retention Team".

This group of advanced Customer Service Reps can do 'about anything' they want(be nice so they want to help). All situations are different but I have never had them let me down. Even if they can't do exactly what you ask, they often find a deal that is even more appealing to get around those "idiotic bureaucratic rules". Good luck!
