Motorola Q Global / Q9h
Am I missing something?
Ok, so first of all, I really am not trying to start some religous debate... However, as a former Blackberry 8800 user, I really don't understand the appeal of this device. Perhaps it isn't Q specific, but more Windows Mobile in general. Everything seems to take longer. Everything seems to take 20 clicks. No programs seem to die without an explicit Kill from the Task Manager. Nothing seems intuitive. I just don't get it. Is there some primer somewhere that will teach me the Windows Mobile way of thinking? I have been using Blackberries almost since they came out - the first ones were horrible, but better than anything else really. The most recent ones rock, are intuitive, fast, etc. They just don't support Good email sync, hence m...

I am a former BB (8700, 8800, 8300)user as well. I think it's just what you want from a device. If it's email and more business related stick with the 8800 it's awesome.
What the Q9h gives me is more on the "fun" side, along with getting emails etc. However I am looking forward to the BB Connect for the Q9h in 2008. IMHO BB connect is simply the best way to get emails hands down.
But back to why I like the Q9h. Slingplayer (get to watch my TV-TIVO on the road), Skype (works great), audible.com (listening to my favorite books), Rhapsody music downloads (no more need for a separate MP3 player), onboard GPS (the 8800 has this too) and so on.
So the bottom line is really what all do you want your device to do.... because one isn't bette...

I have to agree that the learning curve on this is greater than it was on my 8700. There are certain things that seemed logical on the BB but illogical or hidden on WM6. Something simple like changing the icon order in folders is not readily apparent on WM6 and no one seems to know how. I'm getting used to the device, but it is a bit kludgey. I mainly chose the Q9h over the 8800 or curve so I could have better compatibility with Desktop application counterparts, such as Excel. It's also a lot easier to transfer files to/from the Q, though it's possible I just didn't know the easy way to do that on the BB.
