Text Messaging
Alright, So I've had my phone about 2-3 weeks.. and I'm having problems text messaging already. Most of the time it's good, but every now and again my phone will stop receiving texts all together. Even calling *99 won't help. When this kicks in sometimes it won't send them either..
I'm using MTS in Canada and was wondering if this is a problem with the Rokr or is it just my phone?

it's probably your phone... i had 3 bad ROKRs that all had texting problems. I just kept returning them to the US Cellular store until I got one that didnt' have the same problem. (I'm on my 4th ROKR now!) LOL.

Well I brought it in to get it exchanged and the guy just turned it off for like 2-3 mins.. turned it back on and it worked like a charm. He told me to turn it off for a minute or two a day and it should work perfectly. Since then I haven't had problems. Don't like doing that much, but meh, what can ya do.

does yours freeze up?
i had a similar problem with my old phone but it was with calls it wouldnt recieve calls or call out i went to alltel and they were like well you need to update your roaming coverage (*288 or something) but that didnt help so i just got a new phone but take it to your carrier and get them to try to fix it if they can't they should atleast give you a new rokr

I'm thinking its the phone in general. I got my first Rokr about 3 weeks back and within a week I was having the text messaging problem, so I realized that turning the phone off and on seems to work for sending the messages, I would turn it off, then back on and within a minute of turning it back on it would give me a notice if I'd sent or received any messages and then seemed to work fine for a while from then on. So for about a week I went on with turning it off then back on whenever my texts wouldn't seem to send. Then one day my phone just kind of well, froze? I had turned it off and was in the process of turning it back on and it just froze on the loading screen. I took it in to my provider (MTS in Canada) and they just replaced my phon...

I've had problems with this phone as well with the texting... u can read where i posted my problems.
anyways... I am on my 4th ROKR now and the previous 3 all had the same texting problem that u describe.... would still be in process of sending texts, but wouldn't send until u physically turned the phone off and then back on, and then it would give u a notice showing the messages sent. I went thru that with my first 3 phones, and one of them also froze up after i turned it on and was stuck on the motorola emblem that appears when u first turn it on. How in the world you are all having so many texting problems? What carrier are you with? I am with Metropcs,USA, so far I have none, what soever issues that you are all talking about. The texting both sms and mms goes really well, both pictures (2.0 mp), video (mms), and mp3 songs, I can't send them out without any trouble. Whoever said it freezes, I have not experienced that. Battery is the best I have so far, my last phone was Moto Slvr L7c.
