J2ME on Verizon Model

Does the Verizon model also have the J2ME? Can custom written apps be uploaded and used on this? I am deciding between a Voyager and this (this winning quite decisively, though I will miss having a camera).

As someone interested in writing apps for phones this will definitely seal the deal so please tell me that this is a verizon phone that you can actually do this with!
