Hi Everyone,
I currently have a Pearl (which was my first Blackberry) and since my contract is up, I'm looking to upgrade. I have been checking out the curve for a few days and have read really good reviews on it. The ringtone colume and speakerphone on my pearl is terrible! How does the curve compare? Also the keys are almost annoying when trying to email or text. (of course I thought they were great at first because I was coming from a razor-lol). I've been considering the Curve, but ads are looming everywhere about the new iPhone. SHould I pay an arm for this new gadget or just go with the Curve. I'm a working professional and definitely need a business type phone. Any informed opinions??

Not even close, get the curve, it is wonderful. My philosophy is never get version 1 of anything electronic. Let them work out the bugs with someone else. Just imagine what the iphone in 2 years? Actually, you might find that once you use the curve you will not be in any rush to get another phone any time soon.
MIF.

Wow. Thanks. Do you have a curve? How is the speakerphone? I could only clearly hear the pearl in a quiet room and after only a few months, the voice dial has quit working. I've heard great things about the curve and plan to get one this weekend. Thanks for the info. 😉

@Thannah4 - I've heard the speakerphone works great for the Curve. In every review I read, there were no negative comments about the speakerphone.
Btw, once you buy a Curve, feel free to provide your review in the 'Reviews' section of this site. I am considering buying a Curve as well, so more information/reviews the better for everyone on this forum.

Well, I went and got my Curve today and I must say that I am very happy with my decision. It has all the great features of the Pearl, but with a better keyboard, louder and better ringers, and a great speakerphone. I can actually hear the person I'm talking to while I'm driving WITH the window down. The keys are much easier to push and handle. The phone itself is even lighter than the Pearl which is hard to believe. Right after I bought the Curve, on my lunch break, I went back to work and sold my Pearl for 150.00 to a co-worker, so I basically spent 50.00 on it with my mail-in rebate. I am truly a happy camper. I can't stop playing with it. The screen looks better, the camera is better. I know A LOT of Blackberry users at work and ...

Thanks, it really is a great device. Money well spent! My internet works better on this phone also for some reason. It doesn't take as long to load pages. I'd pretty much given up on surfing on my Pearl. By the way, I was wondering if it is possible to get Windows Mobile on my Blackberry?

Windows Mobile on a Blackberry, I doubt it unfortunately.

Do you have a curve? I just got mine and can't figure out how to change the tones for my email and text messages. Can you tell me how to do it?

I was once like you, had a pearl, it was my first blackberry but then the curve came a long and it was love at first sight. I've had my curve for a week or two and it is the perfect upgrade to the pearl, qwerty keyboard, better sound, lighter, better camera. You will be happy you got it.

I got it today and am VERY happy with it. Its fantastic! Its just like you said, everything is improved and the keys are so much easier to type on. The ringers are way better and louder, too. I could barely hear most of them on the Pearl and didn't really like any of them. Thamks to everybody for all the great advice! I love this site. I never buy a phone before coming on here and getting a little educated on it first. Thanks!
