Only if the steps are the same as on the 8300.
1. Press menu
2. Press "0" seven times
3. Scroll to & choose Network select
3a. Choose Mode Preference
4. Choose 1X Only, then OK, then press END.

They actually changed how to get into the service menu on the newer LG's. Just replace the first step with this and you should be all set..

The purpose of turning off the EVDO is that it saves battery life if you live in an area with no V-Cast. I was told the V-Cast phones will always look for EVDO signal and it drains the battery if it can not find the signal. I have done this with all my phones and it seems to work. It's not a considerable change but every little bit helps.
