Motorola RAZR2 V8
Quick release
Maybe we'll finally see the original v3 die...
The v8 (GSM) is the only version that will run Linux.
CDMA has a much stronger signal that GSM. All moto phone i think on verizon are knocked down to 65k screen. thats why the motos have the bes battery life on verizon.
personally id rather HAV GREAT SERVICE THAN A COOL PHONE. I orignally left verizon because of the boring phones...wet to cingular then tmobile....and back to verizon and realize they have the best service.

That's moronic. T-Mobile has the greatest customer service around even though it is fairly regional, and AT&T has the largest network in the country. I will acknowledge though, that unfortunately GSM networks in this country suck, mostly because T-Mobile is not that large and comes out with either lame or outdated phones or because Cing-T&T has the WORST customer service in the world because they're willing to hire any yahoo off the street (trust me, I'm one of 'em.) But the fact of the matter is that GSM will always be more advantageous network because is much easier to go abroad and actually use your phone around the world, unlike CDMA phones...

Cingular claims the biggest network...they mean the most customers not the best coverage. It is a fact that Verizon covers more area.
GSM has problems going through walls. CDMA can go through walls easier. CDMA is the newer technology...gsm is the old technology. People forget that. But if it works for you stick with it. but i know for me verizon is so much better.
Oh and yes i know verizon has boring phones. but i need coverage. a cool phone with a bad signal is no use.

Not true. AT&T does in fact have the largest native network based on owned assets (50,000+ towers v. Verizon's meager 22,000) and POPs covered. Add to that the fact that Verizon's analog coverage (including roaming partners) will be shut off in a short year and a half and it's very clear whose network is the largest.

Also cdma travels farther. So more towers doesnt mean better coverage. Just better than less for gsm.
GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications). GSM is the “branded” term referring to a particular use of TDMA (Time-Division Multiple Access) technology. GSM is the dominant technology used around the globe and is available in more than 100 countries. It is the standard for communication for most of Asia and Europe. GSM operates on four separate frequencies: You’ll find the 900MHz and 1,800MHz bands in Europe and Asia and the 850MHz and 1,900MHz (sometimes referred to as 1.9GHz) bands in North America and Latin America. GSM allows for eight simultaneous calls on the same radio frequency and ...

Wanna bet on that signal penetration fact.

Its not newer and favored and more adcanved for no reason.
you offered nothing, no info.
😉
oh and *sigh*
Secondly, those definitions (if we can call theme that) still cannot sufficiently prove that CDMA is "newer, favored and more advanced." Let's break it down.
Newer: How can it be newer when it was a military air-interface in the 50s? GSM was introduced in the late 80s and became a global standard in the mid to late 90s. Sounds like a difference of a solid 40 years. If we're talking about consumer wireless standards, they're both pretty equal in age.
Favored: That brings me to preference. If both GSM and CDMA became wireless standards in close proximity of each other on the wireless timeline, GSM is hands down the favored techn...

I have verizon wireless and yes they do Use th esame UI on every phone now. But as far as screens and so on. Notice that on cdma battery life is half as good as most gsm phone.

Try it find someone with verizon and compare to tmobile and att. GSM signal degrades when going through walls.
Try it then get back to me.
Verizon=CDMA
Cingular=GSM
I give credit to each company's coverage in my area as they both are usually in full service wherever one may be. For example, in all rooms of my house (with the exception of the kitchen) Cingular and Verizon will hold full signal. Now, as soon as I enter my basement Cingular will remain in full service while Verizon will immediately fluctuate between 2-3 (of 5) bars.
That instance would hold opposite to exactly what you're trying to prove. And for the sake of this oh-so-sc...

Ten years ago? yes sprint sucked 10 years ago because they built there network BRAND NEW from the ground up all Digital!! Only company to do that. But now there the most advanced.
And there the first to begin the process to build Wimax.
Now as far as signal well to each his own i can only speak about the tristate area NJ, NY , CT.....oh and the Cingular signal map is complete garbage because it says where i live i get FULL SIGNAL and FULL 3g..I get zero signal!!!!!! Remember in the last month i switched from Verizon to cingular to tmobile back to verizon and will never switc...
