I have the muziq and all though not a perfect phone, it really is nice and continues to grow on me while most phones I end up buying I end up bored with in days.

I have the same question.
I looked at both tonight at the store..
I really do like the dlx.

I also like the Muziq.

I see bigger keys on the Muziq easier for texting and all that.

However I don't know which has better reception and I hear things about the battery life on the Muziq being bad.

The muziq has bigger keys but offers zero tactile feedback so texting isn't as easy as you would think.

Reception is a non-issue. Pretty even between both phones.

Battery life for the muziq is not great. I have had 2 of them but the battery life was very different between both the phones. The first I had to charge every 12 hours with minimal use. The second I charged every day and a half with the same amount of use.
Definitely a quality issue at the factory.
The DLX battery is decent. 2 days with the same useage.

The one issue I had with the DLX was the call quality. To me it was very staticy and tinny.

The overall volume(ear piece, speakerphone, ringer) on the muziq was very low. I didn't like that at all.

Though the dis...

Well things sound mixed......
I played with both phones at the store and I felt the buttons on the DLX were to small and I'd end up hitting wrong keys especially when texting. Where as the Muziq I felt they were big enough to not have that issue and it felt to me that the buttons were responsive enough to feel a key press.

My main concerns will be volume, sound quality, signal strenght and battery life.

I do have to say if the Muziq didn't have external media controls then I'd have not gave it a second look.

I guess I will have to compare the Muziq to my current Verizon phone as a guide to how well i'm pleased with it.
Which I am very pleased with the Verizon phone besides the fact of it having an external antenna.. From th...

I currently own the muziq and have been very pleased with it. Battery life has never been an issue for me. I have enjoyed many of its useful features. Especially the email push. The only thing I wish was better about the phone is the speaker phone. Just could be a little louder. I don't really care for the music player, but I know that was Sprints doing. I hope you enjoy your phone...

I just got my phone Muziq today.

So far from just walking in my house with it before I put it on the charger i've noticed
that I go between 3-4 bars.
My Verizon phone is anywhere between 1-3 and sometimes I see the roaming message on it.

I am charging both my phones now (verizon phone and the Muziq)

After 9 tonight I am going to call one phone from the other and let them go to see how long it will take for the batteries to drain.

I am hoping the Muziq is as good as my Verizon phone. If so then it will be a possitive.

Then I will check call, signal, audio quality.

My gf just got the DLX and she is letting me know how hers is as time goes on.

I just went through the book and found something interesting.

Despite the specs you read online saying the phone has up to 4 hours of digital talk time.
The book says up 130 minutes. 2 hours and 10 minutes. This may be why so many are complaining about battery life.

If this holds true I will probably not be holding on to this phone for that long.

Well I've got to play with my phone some more.

I got about 4 hours 20 minutes of talk time out of it. Like a few minutes less than my VX-8300.....

I tested time by calling one phone from the other. I was worried at first cause the battery bars on the MUZIQ would drop off quicker than the VX-8300.. However once the 8300 got down to 2 bars on the phone they dropped off quicker and to my surprise the low battery indicator on the MUZIQ came on about 2 minutes before the 8300.

Now I will test the standby time to see how often I have to charge it.

im pretty sure we all know how the katanas work, like the razrs, dlx or not, crappy, im a tech rep for sprint i fix those phones on a daily basis, there unreliable and flemsy, the musiq however, its a decent phone with a good look, and the music player is a deff bonus, but it also has its flaws, over all id go with the musiq cause the katana line of phones is bad.
