my co-worker has this and when we tried to send a song from my phone to his q and use it as a ringtone we could not du it. we were able to save the ringtone into the template section of the q, however when you open it you cannot do anything with it. does anyone know how or if you can send a song to the new q and use it as a ringone?

You have to drop the song into the My Ringtones folder on the phone. Easiest way is to plug into your computer, go to My Computer, click on the Mobile Phone icon and it should be right there along with some other folders. Once you drag the mp3 in, you can go to the Sounds part of Settings on your phone and the title of the song will come up along with the other avaiable tones.

I just got mine. I tried to drag to the my ring tones folder from wmp on my computer and it would not go. I have already loaded songs from wmp to the phones mem card using a cable and the sync program in wmp. I would like to use some of the songs for ring tones. HELP!

Thanks

Don't try to drag it from WMP, open the actual folder where the song is stored and drag it to your phone's My Ringtones folder from there.

OK...
Step 1: Connect your phone to the pc with your data cable.

Step 2: Open the folder where you usually store your music on your pc (NOT WMP, open the actual folder, whether it's My Music or wherever you designated your files to be stored on the pc).

Step 3: Open a second window through My Computer and find the little Mobile Device icon, then click on it to open. You will see a folder titled My Ringtones.

Step 4: Drag the music file from your file folder to the My Ringtones folder.

Step 5: Disconnect the phone, go to your sound settings and the song will appear with all the other standard ringtones.
