touch screen sensitivity

wannabe

Dec 14, 2007, 1:23 AM
i tried out the touch the other day in the store and really liked it. i do however have to ask, is there a way to adjust how sensitive the screen is? the model in the store required rather firm presses, virtually eliminating the possibilities of keeping my current texting speeds.

Different items, buttons, and icons appear to demand different firmnesses of touch press. The bigger the item, the harder you need to press. This is at least my experience. In the TouchFLO screen, I have to push kinda hard for it to acknowledge. However, on the keypad, I do not have to press very hard at all. I downloaded the TouchPal keyboard for free, and I can already type just as fast as with T9 on my flip phone.

The reason you press harder on the Touch rather than say the iPhone or Treos, is because HTC made the phone's screen pressure sensitive instead of heat sensitive. So you can wear a glove and use the Touch, but good luck doing that on other phones.
