No 3G in the US?
I would think that a device this expensive would support 3G in the US too.
The U.S. variant will include quad-band GSM/EDGE as well as dual-band 850/1900 WCDMA radios compatible with U.S. 3G networks.
I'm itching to get this phone!

There will be a US variant of the original N95, but not the N95 8GB.

That's strange! I have contacted Nokia's customer service agents twice regarding the US N95 8gb and put my name on their call-me list upon the phones arrival. Nokia's C/Service indicate a few weeks... 🙂

Nothing strange - the N95 8GB (or N95-2) is a quad-band GSM phone, so it will work in the US. What it doesn't have is the North American WCDMA bands, so you cannot use it with the 3G (or 3.5G) data transfer in the US, only in the rest of the world.
The US 3G N95 (or N95-3) has the North American WCDMA bands, but it is not the 8GB phone.

I see! the N95 US only, no 8GB. So I give up little screen size and remain 65 instead of 128 RAM. However, I will have the 3.5G high speed data and everything else...I can handle that...Thanks vdp

Original N95, including the ones current available at Nokia flagship stores, and on the Nokia website, also called N95 US: 2.6" screen, 950mah battery, 64 RAM, no North American HSDPA, microSD slot
N95 8GB (N95-2): 2.8" screen, 1200mah battery, 128 RAM, no North American HSDPA, no microSD slot
N95 3G US (N95-3): 2.6" screen, 1200mah battery, 128 RAM, with North American HSDPA, microSD slot
