Screen time-out is about 5 seconds

the main screen of the 6555 times out and goes blank at 5 or 6 seconds. This is way too fast for me, particularly when I am just learning the features. Is there any way to change the time before it goes out? I've looked all over settings and turned off all the 'batter save' features for the time being. TIA

did you ever figure out how to get the screen time out to last longer? I also just got this phone and find it very frustrating to have the screen go blank to quickly. it takes me longer than 5 seconds just to read what is on the screen. I called the office where i received the phone and they told me that there is no way to make it last longer, which will probably be the reason I return it. After, only 3 days of having the phone it is driving me crazy already!

This is the first answer I received. It's not so bad now that I'm more used to the phone, which is otherwise a great phone. As far as I can tell, then, there is no way to change the setting.

I am considering buying this phone. Does the front screen stay lit so you can see the time and date at all times or does it also time-out after 5 seconds?

One work around for the display is to enable the backlight while the charger is on. This will keep the backlight and display on the entire time the charger is connected.

Menu > Settings > Enhancements > Charger > Lights > On.
