2MP cam?
This looks pretty nice but I don't get why they would downgrade the camera, I have the N80 and the 3.2mp camera is awesome, why downgrade it to 2mp?

Nokia's answer is that emphasis is on music and gaming rather than the camera aspect. For more camera-oriented phones, they offer the N93i and N95.

I guess. But if that's the case, I personally wouldn't tout this as the "successor" to the N80. It may very well be a much better overall phone but people are going to harp on the fact that at least one aspect--the camera--has been downgraded. Why even put yourself in that position? Just release the N81 on its own without any tie-ins to previous model.

I just confirmed that the N81 camera is auto-focus, which makes a huge difference. When you consider that, it's not necessarily a downgrade at all.

So they did. Upon double-checking, Nokia now tells us it is NOT auto-focus. ☹️
Sorry for the confusion! 🤭 Two Nokia spokespeople initially told us they looked into it and it was auto-focus. That should be "straight from the horse's mouth", so we were going with the best info we had at the time.
