Has VGA screen but downrezzed to QVGA
This phone actually has a VGA screen however the OS downrezz's the display. If you see the phones screen the pixels are barely perceivable but the graphics look jaggy, due to being downrezzed.

is it really?? I have one right now. Do you think there's some sort of software update or hack I can do to get that resolution out of the phone? Maybe in the near future???

I'm pretty sure this is a QVGA display.
If it was VGA, it would be mentioned. Besides it doesn't make sense why on this lower feature phone would get a VGA screen while higher end HTCs get QVGAs. ๐

Trust me its VGA, if you hold it side by side with a dash, you can easily see the pixel density is much higher on the shadow. The preliminary specs had it with VGA screen/Interface but there were performance issues. So instead of revamping the whole hardware they merely downgraded the resolution via the software, much like you can on your PC, but if you see one in person youll notice this lowering of the resolution makes fonts and graphics look slightly choppy.

it's a TFT 16bit with 240 x 320 pixels. the screen looks great, especially if you are an average consumer, which is what this phone is more marketed for.

READ THE MANUAL
page 198 in the appendix
under DISPLAY:
2.6" transmissive QVGA LCD with white LED back light.
it is a QVGA screen , not VGA downrezzed.

came to look this up.
IT really looks like the 6500 screen has been pushed in to this phone then they droped the rez on the screen to improve performance.
