BlackBerry Pearl 8130
i really need some help
first let me tell u i have never owned, played with or done any kind of research on pda/bb phones so i'm going to sound like a newbie at this. from what im reading it sounds like i HAVE TO HAVE a data plan? i cant just transfer my number to this phone and use it on my regular voice/txt plan? does this phone have get it now? would you recommend this phone? thanks for any input it is greatly appreciated

ok heres the deal. The Blackberry Pearl 8130 does not require a data plan like they say it does. You CAN choose to have a voice plan only, but the internet services will be a pay per kb which gets pretty pricey pretty quick.
The phone however does not have the V Cast network so the "get it now" function is not available.
I would not recommend this phone without a data plan but would recommend it strongly if you get the 79.99 per month blackberry data plan. if you pay for the data service this phone is totally great. if you dont have data then pretty much every function will be unavailable

First of all...you DO need a data plan!! Blackberry unlimited data plan is $29.99, this is in addition to whatever your voice plan is. Not only would it be rediculously expensive, blackberry has contractualy obligated verizon wirleless to do so. That is why the data plan is only $29.99 instead of the normal $44.99 unlimited (for all other pdas).
Second, why would you care about get it now. With the blackberry you can get it now....later...whenever you want. Why pay verizon for videos and ringtones and stupid wallpaper.
With any PDA, you can get pretty much anything you want. You don't need to buy ringtones....do a search and download your own...for free!!!! I have google maps(free), opera mini browser(free) full length movies(netflix),...
