To those who have either owned both, or have extensive knowledge of both, should I buy the 8350 or the W755? They have virtually the same specs and the same price, but the 8350 has stereo speakers. And the W755 has the good looks.
I'm concerned about the musical functionality of the phones, battery life, and signal reception.
I have the LG VX 6100 now, and the only reason I really want to upgrade is for a music function. This is not to say that I wouldn't like changing back to iTap and other Motorola signature things (before my 6100, I had an e815 which took a swim in the lake).
So, do I really need stereo speakers, or does the W755 have good enough sound without having those?
And does the 8350 have any notable cons that I sho...

My vote would go to the Moto. I guess they're both comparable, I just prefer iTap and think the build quality of this Moto is much better than the LG's. There's lots of reviews on the 8350 though to help you make a better decision.
...
I'd take the Motorola W755 over the 8350 anyday.
-Better reception
-Better sound quality
-Better build quality
-Much more UI customization (choice of grid, list, and tabbed menus)

Between the 2, I would also go with Motorola W755. I was surprised that I got good reception with the W755, when my last Motorola had crappy reception, which was the 120c. speaker is loud enough that separate speakers aren't always necessary (providing you want to use the phone speaker. I don't remember if the VX8350 has stereo bluetooth, but the W755 does. I'm waiting on battery life before I make the decision to keep it or not. But my big problem with this phone is that with the case, the front controls don't like to work too well.

I am looking at getting this phone but have a few questions. 1) can you operate the camera with the flip closed. and 2)is it fairly durable. Its not like im gonna be dropping this phone out of a car window, but my current phone (regular razr) could not take the abuse that i put on it.
...
You can use the camera with the flip closed. And I'm not sure how durable this phone will be, and I doubt anyone else does since it has only been out for a couple weeks or so... 😕

I personally prefer the Moto over the LG hands down. While style is a huge thing that the Motorola has, it also feels a whole lot more solid in your hands. While using the 8350 it felt as though the plastic was cheaply made. Also I like the redesign of the menu system that Motorola has opted to go with. While it doesn't give a whole lot of changes, it's a welcome change over the Verizon forced menu that most of these phones are stuck with.

I would go with the LG8350 easily! LG has a much better reputation and the 8350 is known as one of the best reception phones. LG backs up their products and fix's their issues. Motorola does a terrible job with quality. I only like Motorola because of their loud speakerphone.!

I've had good LGs and bad LGs and good Motos and bad Motos. LG phones are OK, just feel a little cheaply made to me sometimes. It's really a personal preference, I just prefer Moto.
...
Oh no doubt it's personal preference. Sadly I've had a dud on both Moto and LG, the Razr V3 and the LG 8700 (Shine) Both got really messed up the longer I used them, but hey, you have to look at it that we're constantly getting better quality the longer we use cell phones. I only side with Moto on this because of the more complete outer display as well as the metal accents on the side. It gives the phone more of a solid feel. Otherwise, they're about the same IMO

the moto is brand new. i have played with one and they seem to do a good job on this one. i own a razr2 and love it. in my area for whatever reason lg gets better reception then all the motos. but none have a problem (thanks to the vzw network). the lg 8300 (which was replaced by the 8350) was probably one of the best phones ever. not as iconic as the e815, so maybe i should say one of the best lgs ever. moto is a lil thiner. both are great phone and similar features. its more about what you like in your hand, which is more comfortable. its a win/win either way

Thanks all for the help. The Motorola is the better looking and is more customizable, so I think I'm gonna go with it. If it's anything like my old e815, I'll be happy 🙂

Just an update-- I ordered the phone last night and it should be here tomorrow. I'm excited 😁

I think you will like it - I've had it a week and this is the first phone I've had in a long time where I haven't even contemplated sending it back...

The phone came in the day before yesterday. The only problem I have with it is that texting with it is extremely slow at some times. The text input rate takes forrrrreeeevvveerrrr at random times. This probably has something to do with my 2 gb micro SD card in it that has 1 gb of songs on it. But still, it's extremely annoying when I have to slow down my texting to allow the phone to catch up. I never had this problem with my LG 6100. If this issue persists, I might have to send this back and try the LG VX 8350. But otherwise, I love this phone...
But on the plus side...
Great sound quality!!!
Fits well around your face when talking on the phone.
Loud speakers (although, perhaps a little too loud sometimes, even on low).

Keep us updated on the txting.
Do you use iTap or just the regular method? I was looking at getting this phone to replace my girlfriends Samsung which is going bad, but she is extremely fast @ txting using the regular input method.

My kid has this phone now as I have moved on...but I used itap exclusively, I love it and find it very fast. He doesn't use any of the predictive text and sticks to abc. Either way, his fingers fly and I had no trouble with it on itap. It's whatever you prefer...doesn't hold a lot of messages before it tells you to dump them though...
