seriously how hard is it to make a phone that doesnt dial in your pocket. i'm really tired of LG for not fiugring this out.

do they not have pockets in whatever country LG is in?

something i havent seen mentioned yet is that not only can you accidentally dial in the pocket but you can also easily hang up with people in the pocket. at least i think thats happened a couple times.

ironically when you're texting from the front screen the screen will lock if you pause for 7 seconds - but if you're ON a call it doesnt lock meaning that pretty much any button will either beep in the persons ear, hang up, or conference somebody else in!

if you're considering NOT getting this phone due to these problems my advice is to try it. maybe they...

The enV² cannot dial in your pocket if you wait the seven seconds after your last call before placing it in your pocket. Of course, that presumes that your OK button isn't somehow accidently pressed quickly twice to unlock the keypad. Keeping other stuff out of your pocket will prevent that.

Also, If you've changed Keyguard Settings to Always Off, 15 Seconds or 30 Seconds you'll have potential pocket problems. I use the Verizon leather belt holster. No problems.

It would probably help if you actually had to hit the OK key twice. In reality all you have to do is hit ANY key and then hit OK. I've also disabled one touch dialing, hoping that will help the issue.

If you open the enV and hold down then X key you can lock your key pad. Your password is the last 4 digits of your phone number (assuming you haven't changed it) Just do that and you won't have any problems. =)

Didn't work for my enV2 either. Quickest way to lock the phone that I know of is to hit "ok" to bring up the menu, and hit 9.. 6.. 6. That takes you to the security menu, enter your 4 digit code, then hit 4 to lock the phone.

I mentioned accidental dialing days ago. It's quite possible. And I did not have anything else in my pocket. It just manages to hit any key and quickly enough hit the ok key as well. Then it started running thru my speed dials. 7 different people got calls from my phone at least once while I was doing yard work.

Keyguard is useless. It's easily defeatable. One solution is to put the security lock on by going to tools/phone settings/security (hit 9-6-6-enter code- hit 4).

I got a Body Glove leather/cloth holster yesterday and it's doing well at stopping accidental calls.

I'd say with enough complaints that the phone doesn't have any keyguard during calls, and most people have the phone in a top pocket or other when on the phone with a BT headset, AND
OTA software updating, an easy fix could be instituted.
Does Verizon want to get a zillion of these back in

Does Verizon want to get a zillion of these back in less than 30 days? I think not.

If there's anyone here who works for Verizon in a position to make a difference, I believe that a quick fix to at Least make the existing keyguard work during a call would be a critical software update.

yeah it has happened to me at least 5 times in the last week, and i've only had it about 10 days.
i almost want to return it, since the whole reason i almost didn't get it was that i didn't want to call people from my pocket. it doesn't seem to matter if i wait the 7 seconds or not, somehow it manages to press against my wallet and leg and the next thing you know i'm making calls. the only solution i have found is to either lock the phone, which is a pain since you have to take a couple steps to do this when it would seem perfectly sensible to have it automatically lock and require a 4 digit code to enter, or you have to delete all your recent call history to avoid making a call, that is, assuming that you don't have your speed dial set up,...

Would you please give LG's customer service a call and politely make a complaint about this one button keyguard?
They do listen and this phone has OTA programming. They could easily make it a 2 or three button unlock, or add a simple press and hold for a multiple key unlock.\

The more folks politely complaining that they are going to return this phone for another manufacturer over this the faster they will come out with a fix.

I sent LG an email and haven't heard from them yet, but I called Verizon Wireless and they said that there will NOT be a fix for this problem. All they suggested was locking the phone.

I initially had problems with pocket dialing and was about to take my phone back. I had tried setting security but found it too clunky.

What works for me is to hold down the "0" key until the phone says "KEYGUARD SET" before I put it back in my pocket. Since using this technique I have had zero pocket dials.

isnt holding the 0 the same as waiting 7 seconds for the phone to self lock? or do you activate a different type of key guard lock with the 0?

just wondering why this helped with the pocket dials
