Poor microphone quality?
I just purchased the Env2 yesterday and began placing calls to see how the phone worked. People on the other line complained that it sounded like I was far away and had to strain somewhat to hear me speak. I had the headset volume up all the way. Has anyone else had similar problems? My only other thought is perhaps I need to get used to speaking with this type of phone as my previous phone was the Rzr and the mouthpiece was right underneath my mouth. Otherwise, I absolutely love this phone and I am reluctant to give it back. Any insight?

Perhaps you should make a few calls, to a couple of the same people, from a floor model at a Verizon store. Let your contacts tell you if you sound the same as before, or not.
That will probably pinpoint whether or not it's your particular phone.

I'm used to a microphone that you hold 1/4" from your mouth.
Try this:
Hold the phone in (example is left hand) your left hand, with your index and middle fingers spread wide on the back pressing the phone to your ear,
(they will be almost on each side of the camera lens, depending on your finger length)
and holding the base of the phone between your thumb and base of your ring finger.(I keep my ring finger and pinky almost 'closed to my palm')
I find this is very comfortable and...the palm of your hand acts as a 'cup' to direct the sound of your voice right into the microphone on the bottom (next to the charging port)of the phone.

Also, go into your Settings & Tools and make sure 'Voice Clarity' is turned on.

i had read somewhere else to turn voice clarity and voice privacy off so i had done that but i will try to see if there is a difference when turning just voice clarity on. thank you!
