The only way i have found to do this is by sending yourself a text with the 'my sound' file included, and when you get the text, save the file as a ringtone.....kind of a pain, but it works.
Both are a bit stupid methods, but they work quickly.

1. As mentioned previously, send the ringtone or music clip to yourself as a text message attachment
2. Use a current version of BitPim. I use it all the time to sync my calendar and contacts. I've only created one ringtone from an mp3, but it works flawlessly.
Every response that I've seen in my short time on the forum, to this type of question, has been to text the ringtone to oneself as an attachment. So either nobody knew about Bitpim, or Bitpim did not support the env2 at the time of the responses. Well I do know about Bitpim, and it now supports the env2.
What if the asker of the question still has his or her env2 (highly likely), and would like an alternative to texting, either because s/he doesn't like texting, or doesn't have a texting package?
What if someone just recently purchased an env2, like me, finds this forum, and has this same question? Do you not think it might be valuable to that new person to have an alternative to texting? This new person ...
